Journal of Arthroscopic Surgery and Sports Medicine (JASSM) journal has seen steady and promising growth in the 1st year of its publication in 2020. A total of 50 articles were published in the first three issues [Table 1], with an average of 17 items per issue. All the issues were published ahead of their deadlines. The contribution of foreign authors was 38.46% (20/52). The inaugural issue had 22 articles, and most of these articles (20/22) were invited review articles by the well-known surgeons in the area of their specialty from India and abroad. Several top international authors in the field of Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine have contributed to this journal, namely, Drs. Brittberg, Gobbi and Dallo, Reider, etc.[1-3]

The review articles accounted for the maximum number of publications [Figure 1] due to many review articles in the inaugural issue (20). However, after the inaugural issue, the original items have started to get published, with 13 articles published so far. Region-wise, most publications were on the knee joint (13), followed by the foot and ankle (8), and shoulder joints (7). The articles related to sports medicine, regenerative medicine, and editorials were clubbed together in others’ category and accounted for 15 articles [Figure 1].

The JASSM has received the ISSN number and is indexed already in Google Scholar. The applications for the inclusion in the PubMed Central and other indexing bodies have also been made. With more indexing in 2021, the popularity of the JASSM should increase with more submissions to the journal. I am confident that JASSM would prosper and become a true International journal in arthroscopy and sports medicine in a short period and the near future.
